Matthew 25:1-13
“At that time, the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. “At midnight, the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him! Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’“‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both you and us. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’“But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. “Later, the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’“But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’ “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.”
The Lord is saying it’s time to drop some people, let them go. This is not seeking out problems or causing strife for the sole purpose of disliking them. Go in peace. The Lord doesnt intend for us to dine with unequally yoked people. This doesn’t mean we hate them, or don’t act in love, or don’t serve them. No, we continue to do those things, but with bounderies. Thank you, Holy Spirit. They could’ve been assigned to you or a season for you to shepherd them, but those who let life pass them by due to being in a spiritual slumber, it’s time to create a holy distance. Your lamp is well-oiled because of the Lord. Don’t let people, the noise of the world, and priorities let the oil run dry, or compromise the lamp’s light, dimming. The oil is your sustenance, your anointing, your covering, the Holy Spirit. They had their share of blessings, which God allowed for some time, but because they didn’t wake up in time, they want to continue using your oil without consequences; their delay is disobedience.
Repent, for God’s kingdom is at hand! They cannot run on your prayers, your oil, and live on borrowed faith any longer. It’s time for them to put in the work! We can only answer and stand before the Lord ourselves, surrender them to God, and the expectation and pressure of saving souls, because the Lord is and can come at any time; so stand firm, be on guard, and now is not the time for distractions. Don’t look back and keep pressing on to the prize heavenward, thank you, Jesus, thank you.
Test the spirit and be blessed and well in the Lord always!
