The Physical vs spiritual realms

Nature is made of abiotic vs biotic matter, living vs non-living things that are subject to time. These are all tangible things that can be accessed through our physical senses or perception. Humans are the bridge between the physical and spiritual realm as we have body, soul (mind and emotions), and spirit. Then we have the supernatural realm, which is eternal, intangible matter not subject to time or social constructs that have specific identities. This includes the Trinity (God, Jesus, Holy Spirit), heavenly armies, principalities (rulers), authorities(powers), rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12).

God is king of kings, Lord of lords, and Lord of hosts (of earthly and heavenly armies) (1 Timothy 6:15-16, Isaiah 44:6, Nehemiah 9:6). He not only rules (over creation with might, splendor, righteousness, and judgment), but he also reigns supreme ( with authority, control, sovereignty, autonomy) over all! (Psalm 97:1-12). The physical is impacted by this realm on Earth by God’s creation, divine intervention, and spiritual warfare. Humans access the spiritual realm (good vs evil) by prayer, meditation, sin, fasting (Daniel 10:2-3, 12,  John 9:31, Joshua 1:7-8), faith, and spiritual discipline (obedience and consistency) granting us authority/dominion given to us by God (Genesis 1:26-28, Luke 10:19, Matthew 16:19).  This authority isn’t to be abused but used by wisdom and exemplified by acquiring the fruits of the spirit. The key to this is dangerously in prayer and the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21), the gateway is your body, soul, and spirit, and the ability to speak life over death with the words you choose! This is why self-control isn’t limited to actions; it requires control of thoughts that lead to controlled speech. Ask yourself, do the things you say allow you to operate in the works of the flesh or the fruits of the spirit? (Galatians 5:19-23)

People think just because they don’t see something, it’s not happening and not real. 100% deception from the enemy! The adversary even wants you to believe he doesn’t exist, but there is no good without a bad (Job 2:10). There are things in this world that are reality, facts, that actually happened, and experienced through humans. Whether it be job loss, financial strain, relationship issues, death, mental and physical diagnosis, these are all unfortunate. However, valid experiences have scientific factual evidence. People just see the surface of the circumstances. Since we’ve established that there is an Earthly and spiritual realm, it is important to know God’s word and gain spiritual eyes to prevent spiritual blindness, ignorance, and warfare. For example, the emotion anger is a physical response and can be labeled as a “loud” emotion because with the emotion, there is an action behind it. The action behind it manifests as hot, explosive, violent, and disruptive. There is action, emotion, and there is a thought. Behind the thought is your inner spirit and soul (mind and emotions). The agenda that operates your soul creates a domino effect on the physical if you give it access. Access looks like something as simple as acting on that emotion through negative thoughts, speech, and behavior. Sometimes it can feel out of our control, but just like therapeutic modifications like CBT/DBT teach us within parameters that are given, there are things in our control and actions that modify our behavior. Through neuroplasticity, a mechanism that allows space for your brain to change that supports behavioral modification, which is the action, we can shape our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to be negative or positive based on morals, values, thoughts, speech, and deeds. Another reason why studying scripture renews your mind, leading to spiritual transformation.

If you allow your perception of emotions and circumstances to cause shame, discouragement, fear, and chaos, you open a spiritual door to the enemy. This is worship to the enemy, and through these emotions and the vulnerability of the mind, this is how he keeps you in bondage. This can cause someone to be triggered through a rough season or a traumatic life event. If not surrendered to God, this is how the enemy gets a hold over our trauma. The feeling of being triggered can ignite a slew of emotions like fear, anger, depression, shame, etc. This shows up in actions of intrusive thought loops, flashbacks, nightmares, outbursts, and catastrophic speech. All of these things are attacks to keep your emotions bound and out of control. Spiritually, this can show up as a spirit of Leviathan (coiling serpent), due to the untamed works of the flesh physically showing up in circumstances of chaos, which makes life feel like it’s spiraling out of control, and creates an atmosphere of manipulation through actions and words, causing confusion and misunderstandings. The enemy uses the physical to pervert and deceive (1 Corinthians 2:14). Without spiritual eyes, this can just be symptoms of diagnosed mental health issues. The point is not to discredit real facts but with an additional perspective of anything on Earth in hands of the enemy that is accessible to him through your free will, will be used to kil, steal, and destroy and if you are not in God’s word daily, repentant, surrendered to the Lord and secure in your identity in Christ you’ll be blind like everyone else. However, God can use the physical for His glory and our good if we love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). If you are in Jesus, we are told to test the spirit behind all things with the help of the Holy Spirit (1 John 4:1-3).

The battle belongs to him and is already won! Repent, for God’s kingdom is at hand, and remove the calluses from your eyes from spiritual blindness, apathy, and deafness. Jesus says those who have ears will hear! We fight not against flesh and blood (Eph 6:12), whether you like it or not, whether you want to acknowledge it or accept that ignorance is bliss (Proverbs 5:23), there is the seen and unseen. Keep in mind that because it’s not happening to you and those around you doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen at all.

Rid yourself of narrow-mindedness and blindness, and imagine everything we can’t physically see in the supernatural realm, the intangible. Fix your eyes on what is unseen and set your mind on the good things above (2 Corinthians 4:14, Philippians 4:8-9).
